Buckle's 200th game in charge ended on a sour note as he was sent to the stands for furiously protesting a number of refereeing decisions before Gillingham's Luke Rooney netted an equaliser three minutes from time.
"I do apologise for having a go at the referee," he told the Herald Express. "That's not quite right.
"I have never been sent off in 199 games before this, and I don't feel I deserved it.
"Referees are asking for respect, and for 199 games I think I have given that."
