Torquay could hand a debut to striker Ashley Barnes following his arrival on loan from Plymouth Argyle.Winger Wayne Carlisle (knee) is out, while the Gulls need international clearance if another new signing, Mo Camara, is to figure at left-back.
Port Vale will have to make at least one change as defender Gareth Owen (hamstring) has been ruled out.
Otherwise Vale could be unchanged from the side that put up a spirited display in the midweek defeat by Chesterfield.
Torquay United manager Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon:
"Mo Camara will bring invaluable experience to our back fourand it's a big plus that he's here on a permanent deal.
"Ashley Barnes is a good goalscorer and is somebody from higher level and will bring some strength and flair up top.
"It's been a difficult season, a very tough season, a good learning curve for all and the key now is to stick together and keep fighting."
Port Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:
"Sometimes you don't get the return that you deserve and we're disappointed with the return of no points from two games.
"The expectancy on the players has dropped a bit now, but our season is far from over.
"I will drive this football club forward, even when people think there's not a lot riding on this game. There's everything riding on this game for the players involved."
