Akinfenwa Wants to Play in the Championship

Torquay United Player of the Year Adebayo Akinfenwa has rejected the offer of a new and improved contract by declaring that he wants to play in the Championship.

Both Head Coach and Chairman have expressed their dissatisfaction with last seasons leading goalscorer, questioning his professionalism.

United are expected to receive some compensation for the 23 year old who signed on a free transfer from Doncaster Rovers last summer.

It is believed that upon hearing that Bayo may not sign last weekend, Rosenior started a search for possible replacements.  These replacement have now been shortlisted and United are expected to act in due course.
