Leon Blows Chance Against Former Club

Leon Constantine joined United last season for a record buy of £75,000. At the time it looked like money well spent as he had scored three goals in four appearances during his loan spell. How is it looking now?

Constantine had a great opportunity in the dying seconds to secure United a possibly lucrative tie in the Second Round of the Worthington Cup, however he dallied too much and allowed a defender to nick the ball off his foot as he was about to side foot home - United lost the match on penalties.

Again on Saturday, Constantine was presented with a clear chance to win the game when sent through one-on-one with the keeper.

Head Coach Leroy Rosenior said "That chance just sums up our lack of confidence in front of goal. It was a good opening and one we should have taken in all honesty."

A disappointed Rosenior is clearly frustrated that United have only scored in one game this season, and that was lost 3-2 when the normally reliable defence switched off in the last 18 minutes.

United will probably stick with Constantine for the visit of Chester City to Plainmoor, where we are also likely to see him partnered up front by Alan Connell.
