Striker gets all clear
An x-ray taken of Martin Gritton's gashed foot has shown that the damage is only bruising and there are no broken bones.Gritton, who is the clubs leading scorer with four league goals, has been told that he can travel to Doncaster this weekend, although he is likely to start on the bench and only come on in an emergency.
Two of the clubs other injured players, Lee Canoville and soon to be retiring Arjan van Heusden are no closer to fitness following checks made by physio Graham MacAnuff.
Canoville has admitted his frustration with injuries since being at Plainmoor.
"It gets a bit frustrating, but there's nothing I can really do about it.
"Every time I get a clear run going, something seems to happen," he said.
"I had a stress fracture in my shin soon after I arrived, several niggles after that including a gash in my leg and then a cartilage operation last season."
The mystery of Bruno Meireles' absence last weekend has not been solved, with Leroy Rosenior adding more fuel to the fire by saying "There was no injury I was aware of, other than a tightness of his hams earlier in the week. I just didn't select him for that game, it's a simple as that."
Is there a rift between the two? With Meireles' contract up for renewal in the New Year, we do not have long to wait.
