Injuries force United's Hand

Following the defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend, United are down to 16 fit and available professionals.

With Craig Taylor out through suspension, Steve Woods (groin) and Lee Canoville (ankle ligaments) both injured, the back four is looking very vulnerable at the moment, with back-up in the shape of two, inexperienced, loanees.

A hamstring injury to Alex Russell could put the player out for up to a month, although midfield seems to be the position where United do have more options.

Rosenior is keen to make a permanent signing rather than another loan as he would rather save them for later in the season when they could be the difference between staying up or relegation.

One loan has already been wasted on Bertrand Bossu who is to undertake a scan on the knee which United felt was injured. Knowing we have one of the best physios in football, it is likely that they will find a problem.
