Two Goal Wardley should be Snapped Up
Two goal hero Stuart Wardley has only just signed a short term contract until the end of December, however if he continues to perform as he did against Brentford on Saturday, United should try to sign him to a longer contract as soon as possible. The former QPR midfielder said after the 2-2 draw: "I don't want to waste my chance now.
"I can quite understand why Torquay have only given me three months, but hopefully they will extend it and I can go on from there.
"My knee has been superb, and now it's a question of improving my match-fitness and my sharpness.
"I'm not there yet, but I'm not far off."
On the match he said: "One minute I was so high on Saturday, and the next I was absolutely gutted when Brentford came back.
"But the main thing is that I'm back playing in the first team and I'm enjoying my football."
Head Coach Leroy Rosenior said of the player "People warned me off him.
"Stuart is not the same as he was two years ago, not the same athletically.
"But, as I know from my own experience, when you have a knee injury, you start using your brain more.
"Stuart is a good footballer and he's tremendously bubbly in the dressing-room, which is very important for us."
United now have a strong midfield with Wardley alongside Meireles, Russell, Fowler, Bedeau and Phillips. This coupled with a good defence leaves United with a solid looking side, if only they can find a goalscoring striker.
