Ex-Ranger to Prove Fitness

Former Queens Park Rangers and Rushden and Diamonds midfield Stuart Wardley has signed a short term contract until the end of the year.

Wardley, who has just recovered from a serious knee injury, has been on trial at Plainmoor and completed his first 90 minutes in the win at Stockport on Saturday.

This is a great signing for Torquay, as his quality has never been in doubt, and should Wardley have proved his fitness by Christmas, he will undoubtedly be snapped up.

Other trialist, goalkeeper Olafur Gottskalksson pulled out of a friendly against Exeter City after only a couple of minutes on Monday. The keeper had injured his back in a fall on Saturday, and although starting, realised the pain was too great to play through. Talks will continue once the player is back to full fitness. The great goalkeeping farce continues.............
