United Lead League One in Players Used

Despite having one of the smallest squads in the Division, Torquay United have so far used 21 players this campaign.

With suspensions and injuries taking their toll, United have had to make full use of the squad, and perhaps throw in players before they were in fact ready. This has resulted in poor performances and results, leaving Torquay one place from bottom after just six games played.

If Leroy Rosenior can field his first team, we will hopefully see a change in the club's fortunes, but at present Kevin Hill, Alex Russell, Adebayo Akinfenwa, Jason Fowler and Lee Canoville are still out injured, although Canoville is expected to make his comeback very shortly.

The only players not to be used so far this season have been the three first year pros' Small, Skinner and Bond, although they have been on the bench. The good news is that, although top at the moment, we do not have much more scope to carry on using players at this rate.

The only other club to use as many players as Torquay are Bristol City, who although pre-season favourites for promotion, are now languishing close to the relegation zone, due, in the main, to the changes in personnel every week.
