No Time to Reflect on Disappointment

Following on from Saturdays defeat against bottom club Stockport at Plainmoor, United face an even tougher challenge as they travel to Birkinhead to take on promotion challengers Tranmere Rovers.

Influential playmaker Alex Russell looks set to miss the trip after being injured after on 16 minutes of the match against Stockport which may see Anthony Pulis making his first start for the club since being signed on loan from Stoke.

Expect to see Craig Taylor back in the team following the serving of his suspension, perhaps for Paul Robinson following his handball but it will more likely be Matt Villis that makes way for the United captain.

Head Coach Leroy Rosenior will stick with his 3-5-2 formation, especially away from home where the team are not expected to attack as much.

record signing Leon Constantine is unlikely to have recovered from his hamstring injury, so expect Adebayo Akinfenwa to play up front with Tony Bedeau instead of Jo Kuffour due to his ability to hold the ball up.

Gulls-Mad starting line-up: Gottskalksson; Woods, Robinson, Taylor; Canoville, Hill, Gosling, Pulis, McGlinchley; Bedeau, Akinfenwa subs Kuffour, Hockley, Phillips, Woodman, Villis
