Us denied at Torquay
Oxford substitute James Constable hit the post with a header in stoppage-time as Oxford almost clinched victory in their 0-0 draw at Torquay.
Seconds earlier, Torquay defender Chris Robertson cleared Michael Duberry's header off the goal-line and the former Leeds man saw another header crash off the top of the bar as Chris Wilder's men dominated at Plainmoor.
The best chance of a dour first half fell to Torquay skipper Lee Mansell just before half-time, but the midfielder's close-range effort from the left was turned around the post by Oxford keeper Ryan Clarke.
Torquay pressed early in the second half, with Eunan O'Kane threading the ball through to right back Joe Oastler whose shot from the right smashed off the upright with Ryan Clarke beaten.
The visitors finished the stronger, though, and were denied by the woodwork twice.
